When we hear the word meditation it has different meanings and many ways to do it. Many companies are starting to focus on developing wellness programs such as yoga classes, meditation practices, mandala coloring, journaling, gym memberships etc. These practices have proven to help you relax and relieve stress. The goal of these forms of meditation is good to focus your attention on the things that are happening in our lives.
Some individuals call these methods called “Mindful Meditation” these practices can help you relax, help you focus and more importantly helps you release the stress we all carry in our lives.
What I have been practicing for a few years now, you really don't need any special tools or equipment to practice meditations. You don’t have to just sit in a comfortable position in a chair or on the floor, of course, you can if you want too, but for me, the “quietness” makes it even harder, so I do “active meditation” – that will come in another post. Meditation is what’s more comfortable for you and your soul.
Practicing these mindful meditations may bring up certain feelings or emotions, that is good, but don’t let this be the end, allow it to happen. Take deep breaths, up to 5 minutes and re-focus to releasing your stress. When you start your mindful meditations, allow for only 10 minutes at a time. Then you can increase the time up to 30 minutes.
I have been working on centering myself, putting my health, my soul first and my work and family benefit the best of me. I would encourage everyone to develop a meditation practice, which improves your work life balance.

First off, a big thank you to those who have already purchased the book. We look forward to hearing from you on how your journey is unfolding.
Second, I want to share a story and please chime in with your comments if it resonates with you. Many years ago, I had aligned myself with what I would call, my perfect tribe. We were a group of mostly women and one brave male friend joined forces with us and we were each other’s’ support team. Whenever we had an experience to share, or was having a difficulty, and in some cases, if there was a breakthrough spiritually, we all shared, supported, laughed and even oh’d and ah’d!
We had become a regular talk & email team for each other. On several occasions, we even managed to get together and enjoy some amazing trips and shared some awesome experiences. We did a very unique high noon blessing (after an all morning vow of silence since sunrise) where we soaked our feet in wine and poured the contents of the wine filled foot bowl into the Oak Creek Canyon water in Sedona Arizona. We explored many topics during a week-long retreat at the Power of Thought School in the Ozark mountains. Over a period of 10 years, our friendships and bonds grew and we would visit each other as often as we could and had adventures like never before.
I do miss those times. Sadly, a few of our treasured tribe has passed on to the other side and those remaining have moved on in their own life, giving way for new friends and possibilities.
I am blessed that I have others now in my life that I can call upon as my tribe. It is so inspiring to have people that you can talk to in a very non-judgmental, caring and secure way. They are my woo-woo group and they add so much to my life. I look forward on embarking on more adventures with them.
So, if you have a tribe that you share with, or if you are looking for a group that is like-minded and open to support everyone in a loving way, this may be your opportunity. Kay & I are already talking about having our own book retreat with empowering classes, activities and more. If you’d like to join us, then please join us now. Get your other friends involved and let’s make this the best group for further developing our best selves. There is power in numbers and we want you!
Hoping to see you soon!
